If you really want to get the TPS spot on, use the percentage via live data not the volts.

From the FSM Troubleshooting the TPS

TPS voltage is .3 with the throttle closed and 4.5 with it fully open.

Throttle position is supposed to be 6% with the throttle closed, and 90% with the throttle gaped open.

Without a scanner you're going to be stuck doing trial and error until you get what you need.

0.3 is tad low.

Using a scan tool is 100% the correct method to do it, but if all you have is a DVOM it can be done. I always go for 0.4v or 0.5v at idle.

Slowcrash, is the 6% & 90% readings spec found in the service manual ?, or just what you have observed on a stock throttle body ?. I've played with my J's Racing throttle body in the past to try and set it properly and I think I had it around 4% idle and 88% WOT. If it should be 6% idle I'd gladly change my tps setting as my I wouldn't mind a bit more idle rpms. Thanks for any additional info on this.
