I have tried many of the available lubes in my transmission over the years and have to admit the GMS FM has the best performance for my usage (I was a regular RL user). After good results in my car we put it in the sons RSX and he says this is the best the car has shifted since he bought it.

I recently ordered some GMS FM from hardtopguy as well, and this is seriously good stuff. My 2-3 notch is gone, and the whole driving experience has improved.

so basically the only reason to use oem fluid is that its cheaper?

why doesnt everyone use this stuff? why are so many hesitating to use it?

A lot of us are using it actually. But some people are not having any problems with shifting that they tend to stick with the factory oil. Some are not fanatic about oil specs, .. etc.

I think you are over-changing all the fluids except the tranny (15k on MTF is about right). M1 can go 7500 easily, the diff can go 30K easily (using LE-607, I doubt I will do it but perhaps once every 4 years).

And yes, you can overchange the oil (not at 3750, but I have seen people who change every 1k miles!) - I posted on it previously. In your case, it just seems wasteful, since M1 has plenty of life in it, and extended drains is what really sets the synoils apart these days. For low mileage OCI's, I would be using Motorcraft 10w30 (who GIII base stocks compare with Amsoil's XL-7500 series, which claims to be a synoil) or Havoline 10w30, which used to be the amazing ChevronSupreme GIII product.

i meant non-sync mobil clean for the engine. i changed it at 4k last time and it was filthy. i dont think i want to wait longer than 3750 for the engine change based on what i saw. unless you were referring to the mobil syn in diff. i confused

so the synthetic gear oil in the diff can go longer than 7500 so i'm thinking i'll do 15k for diff and for tranny(oem mtf)
it's just that it's so easy to do the diff and only 8 bucks(1 bottle). much easier than the engine change. that's why i was thinking earlier change but i'll wait then.

i was using mobil clean because sams club has it. i'll check for havoline and motorcraft

I don't believe in overchanging anything. In fact I change my oil every 2k miles or less, which is usually less. The filter gets changed every 2k-4k, basically every other oil change.

I also would highly recommend changing the tranny fluid pretty often too because tranny problems are $$$. I usually change mine every 3k or less but back when the car was a daily driver/weekend car, I would change it ever 5k.

Castrol GTX 10w30 user for the oil and Honda MTF for the tranny here

I have also had GREAT expererience with GM Syncromesh Friction Modified. I have 3 bottles of the new fully synthetic FM stuff I haven't used yet but I'm sure it is as good as the older semi synthetic FM.

Driving habits are the most important thing when gauging what oil to use and how often you change it.

is that all you can say is newb?? Sure the synchromech friction modified will help you when u go to the track. But in the 04 model synchros which are part carbon fiber, the synchros will spin alot faster for a longer time, resulting in more wear. So before you call me a newb you need get some knee pads or read up. all im saying is that 04 models will probably benefit more from regular honda mtf changes, if you feel you need to be on the safe side, change the tranny fluid ever 3-5 motor oil changes.

I changed my tranny fluid on my 04 to the syncromesh 3-4 days ago. I wasn't having any grinding problem or anything and I always thought my tranny shifted amazing but it is 3x smoother now than before.
