tranny problem
hey guys...im very sad right now...i was studying at starbucks...wen i was leaving...i duno wat i did...i think i didnt step on the clutch fully...and shifted into 2nd...then i got a clunk sound...and then it started ticking...then i got scared...i steped on clutch all the way...no sound....im in neutral...and i slowly let go of clutch...i hear metal ticking sounds....then...i put in first...and slowly release clutch...i hear ticking sounds...but the clutch is gripping...i slowly start to roll....i give a little gas and it keeps ticking...i got scared i shifted into 2nd gear...even louder ticking....so i try 3rd gear...ticks but not as loud as 2nd gear...i stop adn go into reverse...it ticks too....it sounds like theres a loose piece of metal inside my tranny....and everytime the clutch is released...there is a sound...even wen the car is moving....i rolled home right away cuz it was only 1km away....took my toher car and went back out to study....wat should i do...
no more powertrain warranty...i just got coilovers...no money to fix the car/get a new clutch yet!
did i break the gears off or sth?
wat could it be?

Besides the ticking sound, do you "feel" anything when the tranny ticks? It is unlikely you trashed your tranny just by power shifting. It is more likely that there is something wrong with your clutch.
Is the frequency of the ticking sound proportional to the speed of the car, or does it vary with the engine RPM? Does it change speed when you shift to a different gear?

i did a lil testing today...
neutral, step on the clutch = no sound
neutral, let off the clutch = starts ticking
first gear = slowly let off clutch = ticks louder than neutral
2nd gear = moving slowly = even louder than first gear
stock clutch.
stock everything
i have dc sports header. testpipe...but i dont think these will affect anything.
someone please helpme!

hrmmm......well so far we can establish
-It only ticks when engaged in a gear
- The ticking is present in multiple gears
- Each gear you go up, the sound gets successively louder.
What about shifting gears? is it smooth? notchy? impossible?
Engaging gears - from neutral to first can you pick up and go as normal?
What about if you have the car in neutral and rev it? can you hear any noise?
I think with this one its probably not going to be a 'quick fix', and unless your going to get under the car, remove the gearbox and check some stuff your going to have to take it to a mechanic anyway. sounds like an odd problem.
Could be a damaged driveshaft perhaps?
good luck with it man, probably not a good idea to keep driving it until you get it fixed though.

So wait, does the car start ticking when you let the clutch our in neutral when you're not moving? Since you said it is speed related instead of rpm, I would say that it is probably in the last few parts of the drive train. So start at the end and work your way forward (ex tires, wheels, brakes, axles, diff etc..) Look for anything that might be loose (axle nut maybe?) If the car bucked (jerked) when you shifted into 2nd maybe something got worked loose.
