Tranny problems, and some other stuff
Ok I encountered some problems with my vehicle recently, first one was the weather stripping on the drivers side, came off, with al this rain in LA its a pain in the neck, however I guess the dealership will fix it under warranty, second one is , my car does not go in the 5th gear. Everything is fine with the rest of the gears, no grinding no nothing, but the car acts like there is no 5th gear, like it never meant to have one, it feels like something is blocking the way for it. When I press it in it just doesnt go in, does no make a a griding sound or vibration ( yes I am pressing the clutch in at the same time). So I am gonna get that checked too, was wondering if anyone else had this trouble, last one is I have neuspeed springs and 18 inch volk wheels on my car. They dont rub however I am swapping my wheels for stock wheels, I was wondering if its ok to drive the car with neuspeed lowering springs and stock wheels and tires.

I'll leave this in this forum since you have a question about the transmission, however, your "will my wheels rub" question belongs in the wheels/tires forum. It's a common question so you may want to do a search too.
I'd suggest editing your post to only talk about the transmission issue, then create a new thread in wheels/tires about the rubbing question.

AndyS2, do you skip gears when you shift? If so, this thread will be of some interest to you.

Look at the pictures and the first reply by Woodwork. He specifically addresses the 5th gear problems that you apparently are experiencing. For those that do not know who woodwork is, he's an engineer for American Honda.

I just check out that article, it looks liek my problem.
I do skip gears , I admit to that, I just dont get , how the honda mechanic fixed one of the problematic cars, by forcing the non working 5th gear in its place. Thats kinda scary, I wont try it my self.

Check to make sure there isn't anything blocking the movement of the shift lever. The sivel is a white plastic ring, and has been reported to be pretty weak. You may just need to clean and regrease it. It is pretty easy to remove the center console and shift lever boots.
However, if it's under warranty, just take it in.
