Default Tranny removal help needed

I've spent all day pulling my transmission in order to do a clutch change but I'm stuck and can't get the damn thing separated from the engine. All bolts are out and engine/tranny are supported on separate jacks and I have managed to slide them apart about an inch and a half and that's as far as I can get.

I pulled the throwout fork although I can't get it out of the housing. Is there something else? I'm using screwdrivers and prybars and I'm about to damage something.

Again, there is nothing external holding the two together. It seems like something inside the housing as the tranny pivots about the shaft but won't come off. I'm getting frustrated.

Thanks

Push the trans back in and then pull the fork out. That is why it wont come out. Fork needs to be removed.

It sounds like u know what your doing and this probably isn't your first clutch job so I wont state the obvious. How about this: PP fused to the fly/wheel? Nah,it should still come out even if it was.

Per the Honda Service Manual, you are supposed to pull the fork out from the fork hanger, then stuff a shop towel in the opening to hold it in place. This way it stays clear of the way and the trans can be removed.

Thanks guys. The fork is just dangling and not really causing a problem. I only removed the top starter bolt and not the bottom but it really doesn't seem to be causing a problem. Again the tranny has pulled away over an inch already fairly easily, then just hung up. It seems like it's hanging on the shaft/throwout bearing/or something inside. It probably doesn't help that I'm at 140,000 on the original clutch. I'm gonna give it another try

Fork. Definately.
It has to come out to separate them.

the fork can not come past the bellhousing. it was stated earlier, per honda manal, stick shop rag to keep it from moving once it is dislodged.

dude, giggle and yank harder assuming you 100% removed all bolts. be a man!

Make sure the top starter bolt is completely out. I loosened mine until I thought it was out and it stopped the trans about 3/4" out.
