Default Trans kicking my butt

So I pulled my tranny, installed a comp clutch and now I can't get my tranny back on... It will slide on the spine fine and seat all the way to about 1/4 an inch from mating... Something is keeping it from going on all the way and I am at my wits end... Anyone experience this before?

Your clutch release fork has slipped into a bad position. Back off the tranny an inch or so, get the fork out of the way and try again. If you're within 1/4" from mating, it's not the alignment tool issue. The splines have already slotted in.

Yeah... I did use an alignment tool... I made sure the fork is out of the way too... It moves around freely but still can't get the think to go...

There are wiring bundles that run around the area at the top right (looking toward the front). One of these bundles may have drooped down and is caught between the engine and the tranny. There is also a locating pin (metal dowel) on the rear of the engine. The tranny must be aligned exactly right to slide into that pin.

As I recall that alignment pin sticks out about 1/4-1/2", so that very well could be your issue. Check that there isn't any crud inside the hole that the alignment pin fits into.

Iv pulled alot of s2000 trans. YES sometimes it will get that close and then not go the rest of the way. I dont know why it does that but Iv had it happen to me a few times. I just start one of the bolts on the side and it will pulling it in closer. I then start a bolt on the other side and pull that side in. I go back and forth till its pull together, then run all the other bolts in and your good to go.

check all the alignment pin trans/eng.
check to make sure no wiring from the driver side has fallen between the trans and engine.
check to make sure the fork is out of the way.

THEN DO WHAT I STATED ABOVE ... It will work

^ what he said, I've had this problem with subies, Sr20's etc, sometimes its just one of those things you cant figure out. do what Tony said and just start pulling it together with the bolts.

tighten one side a little and then the other, dont just try tightening 1 side down and then the other. alternate until its seated.
