Just for note - I'm an Amsoil dealer (for personal use and price - don't have time to sell it) and spoke with their tech folks a few weeks ago about a replacement fluid for the Honda MTF.
They stated they don't offer one - but are considering it. They are biding their time to see what the demand will be. They're measuring the interest level by the number of phone calls they receive and the number of emails they get on their tech lines.
I'm personally switching to Redline MTL and have told them that is currently the best option available for Honda owners ... S2000 owners in particular. They stated that they could get a top notch product to market in a relatively short period of time if their was enough interest to warrant it ... as early as 90 days. They have done some prelim work on the product.

Amsoil Corp phone #: (715) 392-7101 ask for tech services. They have a 1800 number, but won't connect you to tech services through the number.

http://www.amsoil.com/techservices.htm
is their web based email address.

I have only done a few mods to my car such as intake and exhaust. I love the car and want it to last but I don't baby it when I drive it. I would appreciate any help or advice I can get.
Thanks Jason
Jason...listen to Road Rage when it comes to advice on this issue. The man knows his stuff.

With that said I have tried Mobil 1 and Redline in my differential and neither one of them is as good, IMO, as the LE607 that RR found.

In the transmission, choose what you want from the options given already. I've only used Redline fluids myself...2 qts. of MT-90 in the summer and a 1 qt./1 qt. mix of MT-90 and MTL in the fall and winter but have heard nothing but good things about the others except for maybe the rate in which they expire.

I agree with 606, Road Rage has done his homework and is the reason why I'm switching to Redline MTL in the transmission.
I don't no enough about LE607 to recommend it. I use Amsoil Series 2000 75W90 in the Diff and the fluid comes out nearly as clean as new after 7000Mi. Not bad considering my first change was extremely dark (factory fill). I used Royal Purple 75W90 in a previous car (out of Amsoil) and it was almost black when it came out. I've had good luck with M1 gear oil in previous cars, but don't use their engine oil. Redline and/or Amsoil for me.

Not only do the Honda dealers not have the factory fill equivalent of diff lube for the s2k, they don't have the engine oil or transmission oil either. Honda MTF (transmission) does not perform as well as the factory fill (much more notchy shifts) and they admit that they can't replace the engine oil if you want to change it early, because they can't even order it.
In all these cases, Road Rage's advice has been invaluable. BTW, I'm very happy with LE 607 for differential lube. Tremendous product.

Honda MTF works fine with my tranny and does improve the shifts. I've noticed that you may want to change it more frequently to keep it shifting smooth if you stick with Honda MTF. I believe LE makes tranny fluid that will suit the S2K as well, but I have not heard much about it.

I have LE 607 in my rear diff and so far, so good. I used Mobil 1 in my previous S2K, but the LE 607 seems far superior.

I went fully synthetic @ 5000 miles using Redline products with no issues.Recently we had a mod day @ Ganley and I again change all fluids @ 7500 with Redline accept the diff;I went with LE,since I won it @ Wake the Dragon and was told by the LE rep that they will guarantee the diff against lubrication related failure.Again no issues

The car is quieter, shifts smoother ,and I seen an honest 1mpg increase across a broad spectrum of driving.

While LE does make a compatible diff fluid, they do not currently supply a good fluid for the transmission.

Full disclosure: Yes, I sell LE fluids. If they had the right stuff for the tranny, I'd sell it too.

how can you tell that the le607 is better than the mobil 1 in the diff? does it run "quieter"?

btw i have had good luck with honda mtf, but it feels like it breaks down quickly. i plan to change it once a year.

Can you give us the basis for this assessment please? A fluid analysis after being in service for several thousand miles would be the only way to tell for sure. Has anyone put enough miles on this fluid to send a sample in to get some numbers?

I use Redline MT-90 in the tranny and Amsoil 75w-90(I think) Series 2000 in the diff.
