Transmission & differential problem
The 04 has different gear ratio's than the 00-03. If I had my choice I'd want a new trans, not a used one. Used transmissions are impossible to bench check without rebuilding. I wouldn't want to risk getting a trans with a munched synchro.
If you can get a new 04 trans, go for it.

Run it low on oil, or out of oil they'll last a while before making babies.
Just a little tip..Hardtopguy had about 6 04 trannys (we bought 3 in NY) These came out of some brand new 04's that were wrecked in transit to the dealer, so they are essentially brand new with about 7-10 miles on them...same for the differentials. This would be the ultimate wat to go IMHO....

1500 for the trans, I think 800 or 1k for the dif....This is well worth it, as they are essentially new...It would be hard to beat these prices, even for older stuff with mileage...

Trans....could run from 5.5 to 12 hrs, depending on experience
Dif...1.75-4.0hr....depending on exp...
I would ask around for anyone who's had a clutch done and is happy. Trans replacement is best left for someone who has done them before. I'd recommend Hardtopguy for the installs, if he was closer. But he may know someone in your area who is good...
