Well I sold my turbo Integra GS-R and just picked up my new berlina black 04' s2k with only 55k miles! Anyways, the next day I changed the oil, tranny fluid and differential fluids. I realized that I have this notchy feel from 2nd and third like everyone else is having but this may be stupid but it's an idea, on my gsr it shifted smooth like butter and now the s2k feels notchy the reason being besides the flaw of the synchros is because on the gsr the vss (Vehicle Speed Sensor) was on top and like most people that knew filled it with a little extra fluids (GM Synchromesh) and have noticed a big improvement with the little extra, and when i mean little possible a quarter of a quart or less. Any imput or ideas how to put more in there without it dripping out.

 

If you install the fluid while the car is jacked up on the drivers side only you can fit more in. Other fill this way then lower the car and let the excess pour out the fill whole.

Based on some recommendations here, I have a little extra in mine.

 

You should try the new Honda MTL...it is much better than the old Honda stuff, and even better than the GM Synchromesh.

BTW...a direct linkage tranny will always feel more knotchy than a cable actuated FWD transaxle.

 

so the new honda mtl is better than the great preached synchromesh?

I have no complaints about the new green labeled Honda MTF. I start to notice the shits getting notchier after about 5,000 miles though so I change it often on our high mileage S.

 

I noticed the same thing. After a few hundred miles, it'll be like butter again.
