Default Transmission fluid without Jack stands.

I asked about the diff in another thread, but is it possible to access the transmission drain plug without putting the car on 4 jack stands? Maybe, perhaps, just by removing the driver's wheel and accessing it that way?

Not possible. The transmission drain plug is nowhere near the wheels.

Unless you want to die, don't get under any car supported by a jack only.

Unless you are as flat as a cardboard, you will not be able to reach the drain bolts on the transmission.

Besides, why not give yourself some room to work? Get some Jackstands!

No, the car has to be level because the only way you'll know the tranny is properly filled is when it comes pouring out of the fill hole.

I actually put a big leveler (the kind with a bubble) against one of the frame rails to make sure the car is level.
