I would say get 4 jackstands and have it leveled before trying to refill. Besides, you really need that space to get the leverage to pull the bolts off, as well as the drain pan.

It doe NOT need to be level, but it certainly does need to be high enough to fit under. I use ramps. The level part has been discussed ad nauseum, use the search.

i have changed my engine oil with my car on the ground, i didnt jack it up or anything...and i did it at 1am in a community parking lot. thank god for led flashlights.


i dont know about trans fluid though...
