Question Transmission whining only when accelerating on 4/5/6 gear?

Hello forum,

I did extensive searches but did not really find a solution for my specific whining:
It only happens on 4/5/6 gear maybe the exhaust is too loud on other gears. It only happens on acceleration, it went away when I let off the gas / press the clutch. When the car in neutral it does not whining at the same rpm, regardless of wheel speed.

Trans fluid is new.

So it basically rules out the output shaft of the trans, the diff, and the engine. But then there is only clutch and the input shaft of the transmission left. But I never saw other reports whining on these parts.

I'm so confused, hopefully I can find an answer before I pay $$$ to open that trans.

Forgot to mention on 4/5/6 gear and high rpm, I'm not sure if the whining is still there as the exhaust becomes louder. Also it is only noticeable when top is up.

Same whining noise, clutch pedal in or out?

Thanks!

No, only whine when clutch pedal out (engaged) and accelerating.

Definitely does NOT sound like output shaft bearing, good call! Have you changed diff fluid lately?

Yes, it is also changed along with the trans fluid. But I feel the noise comes from trans not the rear of the car so I'm not thinking into that direction.
Also without acceleration there is no whining, even clutch engaged while cruising. I think this rules out the diff.

So, if you press the clutch in, while in 4th (or when whining is loudest) --- the whine goes away? If you then shift into neutral and release the clutch pedal, does the noise come back?

Seems this just started or you'd have asked sooner.

What did you put in the gearbox? In the differential? (Grasping for clues.)
