Default trouble changing to 6th gear

Today on the way home i noticed it was really hard to put
the shifter into 6th. I had the clutch completely engaged.
It was like the slot wasn't there. any
ideas what is going on? is tranny messed up? all the
other gears seemed fine...

you may have damaged your 6th gear synchro. this will happen if you skip gears when shifting. usually 5th goes out though.

Try bleeding your clutch. If it's still hard to engage after that change the tranny fluid. If you still can't engage 6th gear, I'd take it to a dealer. Could be the synchros or a worn pressure plate... but since you have an 03, I doubt it.

Was it cold out? Or let me say, was it colder than normal for LA?
I always find 6th doesn't like to slot in when the tranny isn't warmed up.

it was actually cooler than usuall in LA. i guess it the start
of June gloom. this morning it wasn't really there anymore.

what other things might make it difficult to put into gear?

i only have 24.7K miles on the odometer

Was it only that one time that it was difficult to put it into sixth or is this a continuing problem?

I would suggest you change out your tranny fluid and see if this alleviates the problem. If not, take it into the dealer since you're still within the warranty period.

6th gear is very hard to select when my transmission is cold. gets much better within a couple of minutes though.

also look up TSB 02-046 .. that could be making it worse.
