Default Trunk wont open

Ok I am going to keep it brief, I bought a MG style carbon fiber trunk, brought it to my friends shop (he also has an s2000) we install, everything goes well, took off the safety latch part but it didn't seem to affect the operation of the trunk. WE close the trunk and it will not open again, I can hear it clicking to open, but no matter what we do push pull ect. IT WILL NOT OPEN!

please if anyone can help me I would be soooooo great full

Thanks
-Matt

P.S. on an upside the trunk looks great. and its a 2004

Can you push down/pull up on the trunk lip while using the key, inside release and/or fob to find that one place where it might release? Sounds like it's trying to work but something is stuck or binding. It may help to try two or all three release mechanisms at once (e.g. use the key and the fob button at the same time) - I've had sticky door locks respond well with this.

I am going to go ahead and say its pretty much impossible for a person to get into the trunk through the interior, you could take things out of the trunk, but I dont think you could get in there to fix something.

^There should be a safety release latch in the trunk. Take out both seats, take out both vents, use one to shine a flashlight in, pop out the panels in the back (might have to break something to do this...) and then use a wire or coat hanger to catch the release.

Well, i did the same thing! I installed a carbon fiber trunk a couple of years ago, but did not plug the plug back in because i didnt know the opener was electronic, i thought it was a standard cable like my del slow.

Thankfully... I had all of my trunk lining removed. So what I did, was stick a very long skinny metal pole through the vent behind the passenger seat, and shine a flashlight... and there's actually a picture from the inside ( i guess incase somebody is stuck in there? ) and it actually shows you which way to open it. just put the stick against it, and moved it in the correct direction, and it popped right open. But be very careful, the stock trunk is much heavier than the carbon, so u want to amke sure uhave somebody to hold it while it open, so that thing doesnt rip itself off.
