It is a play on words, and a poke at Royal Purple. LE607's performance places it on the "throne" of gear lube performance in my book, so it is royally good. LE has been around since 1951, and RP since about 1991. LE has always had a tribologic/lubrication science foundation- RP was founded by a sales guy as I understand it. LE has provided me with lots of technical info - RP answered my inquiries and questions about some inconsistency with "it's proprietary". So I gave up on one purple product, and picked up on another. Get it?

I kind of cringed when I read LE's MSDS for 607 and it said its color was purple - I do not want my car's maintenance to be associated with Barney oil, so I will have to keep the MSDS handy in case it is ever questioned whether I used the "proper" fluid in my car - can't get any more proper than the exact vis oil specified in the manual, can you?

The Monolec 8130 10w30 is red by the way - ATF red. So I guess I will have to keep the MSDS handy for that as well - don't need a numbskull Service Advisor "educating" me on not using ATF in my engine, or informing me that my warranty has been cancelled (that can only be done in writing, and the full wrath of Khan would be visited on them for that) - I know the Directors of Research at two major oil companies who would be happy to have their staff run a full analysis for me.

BTW, I am sending off the Monolec 8130 and the LE 607 gear oil for a baseline analysis soon. Using Blackstone to check them out. Previously, I had used either Quaker State or Pennzoil, but they now are essentially one outfit.

What more of a green light could you possibly need for the diff oil?
Chartreuse?

Well, I concluded it is going in MY car.

Post to all:
I have received PM's from a number of you and will respond appropriately.
I have real concerns about selling this, since I will make practically nothing, but most importantly, I value my reputation, and do not want my posts to be "questioned" as being in a "conflict of interest" where thought meets dollar signs. I am in discussion with Sponsors here about how best to proceed.

I am not in it for the money. If I were, I would be charging $12/quart, minimum order 3 qts, etc.
