Default TS style hood and Spoon strut bar problem

After putting the Top Secret style CF hood from Seibon on, I can't close the hood. YES I have removed the water chanels, but still not able to close. I took off the strut bar and it fits just perfect.Anyone has this combo and can tell me how to solve this? I am afraid to cut the hood, cause it is by far not as stiff as the stock one, but if anyone has tried it before I am willing to do so. And by the way, if someone want to buy this hood to shave off some weight, FORGET it.It is heavier than stock. I have even painted it in the same color as the whole car (metalic black), I'm not that type of ricer that likes to show off with cheap carbon parts.Took it for the looks and mainly for the ventilation (cooling) purpose.

You have few choices - remove the strut bar, cut the hood where it needs to be cut, get rid of the hood. Although this hood does flex a lot, I've seen such hoods needing to be cut before. It won't really make it any worse. I find that even without cutting, these kinds of hoods always flex at speed anyway. I've had to install hood pins to keep the edges from lifting at speed. Your situation may vary.

xviper you're right, this son of a hood will flex like newspaper @ highway speeds. Any pix of your hood pins install? I took the strut bar out already, but thanks for the reply anyway. Now I know something I knew before from someone who new it even before me
But it doesn't flex that much to keep the strut bar in. I am afraid that it might brake after cutting

You don't cut anywhere near the hood's primary outer layer, only the inner second layer. I was lucky and the hood fit nicely with the rain channels removed, so no cutting for me.
Here are some pics of my hood pins:

Even the authentics have problems. I have Top Secret "authentic" hood and it rubs the fat bubble part of the J's Racing intake. So off it comes and my Type V is going back on. Theres always a solution. I would get rid of the STB all together. Really doesnt do much at all. Pretty much a bling part.
Good luck.

You're rignt, I'm not feelin it at all, but I have it already so I feel sorry for not using it. I took it out just after I saw I will have to break the hood to close it. If I would have to buy it now, I would not do so, but once it's with me already

BTW, is the real deal TS hood lighter than stock?

Mine is and it fits.

I had a spoon brace at first but now I have a J's, no rubbing even with rain channles in place.

It is lighter than stock. Its a really nice hood but it rubs on my intake so the Type V goes back on tonight.
I have cut "authentic" hoods before. Its really easy.
