TSB 2004 2nd Gear Pops out
I have an 05' and had experienced gear poping out of first and sometimes second under deceleration at high rpm...I took it to my dealer and told them about it,hoping they would fix it...they told me that they need to duplicate the problem before they can do anything about it...
they took it for a test drive and didnt see anything is wrong.i told them that its unexpected, but it does...it really sucks...im still driving around with concern...guess i have to wait for the recall

Red8k and s2000craze, bring in the TSB number, have them look it up...tell them that's it's intermittent and that it's becoming more problematic. Most dealers, if they have the TSB, will follow through and help out.
Our brand new 05 popped out of 2nd from the first test drive at the dealer. TSB 05-009 takes care of it. Ours was in the shop for 4 days, but it's absolutely perfect now. I took a video of the shifter and the tach as it popped out of gear 4 times in a row. The dealer didn't even test drive it after watching the video. Just ordered the parts. Here's the TSB:

I did not know about this TSB until I took my car to Honda. They lady wasn't really clear on what parts were actually getting replaced so I thought to look out here to see what I could find... crazy I get more info from the web then the dealer, but what ever.
My question is that it looks like they are replacing the 2nd gear set with the same parts.... what is to keep this from happening again? Am I missing something here???
Thanks!

Im getting mine done next week. Damn Hondas not what it use to be. First my seatbelt creaks cus im too "short" 5'8", the my strikers rattle, now this. arg.
Part of the problem is Honda doesn't manufacture the transmission (or the diff for that matter). The car would probably be a lot more expensive it that were the case.
However, Honda hasn't gone after the transmission manufacturer as aggressively as they should.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Aisin builds the transmission for Honda. They make transmissions for a lot of car companies, including Mazda.
after reading this i called honda and told them that i have this issue, and they said, no theres should be no problem with that, they said maybe your fluid, then i said no they have an problem with the 04-05 tranny popping out of second gear and if you want i can fax you the tsb for the 04-05 and they said, oic let me look quote " oh there it is..."
