Tuning the S2K w/ AEM EMS- How much dyno time needed by tuner?
Just wondering how much dyno time is needed to tune a N/A S2000 at a competent tuner.

Courtesy TTT as I too would like to know. The nearest dyno facility to me within the US is 2.5 hrs away in Manchester, NH. They have experience with VAFC installs so with a harness, I'm curious as well. I realize each shop would be different but any round house guesses?

It will take awhile (2.5hrs min), you have to remember this is a very new product not many if any body is going to have first hand experience with it (most likely not on an S2000). So that will add to the dyno time. You are probably looking at anywhere between $75~$150 (prices vary greatly from shop to shop) an hour. Shops will give you discounts if you buy a block of time but charge you extra for air/fuel tuning.

I just went to dyno my car yesterday, and I asked the guy how much $$ and how long would it take to program a VAFC and he told me 1 hour should do it at their standard rate ($50/hr + $30 for A/F reading). Is there something he's missing quoting such a short time?

the VAFC lies to the ECU so that you can change the air fuel mixture and vtec engagaement. The EMS is a " engine management system" which is stand alone and alows ultimate tuning and replaces the stock ECU. The VAFC piggybacks off of the stock ECU.

My V-AFC was dyno-tuned for 2 hours. Mainly because they had never done V-AFC on a SC S2000. The EMS is much more complicated, I'm personally going to want more than the "minimum" amount of dyno tuning time.
I payed $70/hour for my V-AFC tuning.
