Turbo boost vs. Compression ratio
suzuka, those mods won't help against detonation. the best thing you can do to prevent catostrophic engine failure is
a) make sure your car is not boost spiking. (get a boost gauge) no radical free flowing mods.
b) make sure youre running stoich. (get a EGT gauge) rich is better than lean. start rich tune progressily leaner. fouled plugs are better than blown motors. timing retrads are a plus. j&s knockgaurd is also a very good product.
c) take care of your car! always be on the lookout for problems. blown of vacum lines can cause be headfaches. (zip tie them suckas) make sure youdont have oiling probs, make sure you have clean fuel filters and injectors comsistantly, i can't stress this enough (get a fuel presure gauge).
RavorV3,
My rx7 is still my favorite car ive owned....it was the best, 11.27 et in the 1/4 and 1.03 g's on the skidpad. 'nuff said.

rx7's are sweet cars but i can't believe the hell my brother went though just to maintain his tt rx7. he also had the apex seal problem, and his manual transmission was junk. it wouldn't even go into REVERSE! he now has a 98 CW ITR and he loves it more than the RX7, even though its much slower.
rx7's are like the japanese version of an italian sports car. Fast from a launch, quick in the turns, takes no guff from any other car, and breaks down at least once a week.......I loved mine, but I wanna build my car up, not fix it up..... mine would go into reverse, but not first.... rebuilt the transmission twice..... oy!
You can run as high of compression as want, heck some the import drag cars are ruinning 14:1 plus compression with crazy boost. It all comes down tuning, you have to use the right type of mangement (Vafc and 9.5 compresion and is not a good idea). Stand alone with good tuning you can run hard on boost with high compression.
