Default Two different things going on

Ok guys I need some help. When i start the car I get a buzz, it sounds almost like a rattle, for normally no more then 5 seconds and then it stops. Almost sounds like its grinding the starter a bit (might need a new battery). It doesnt do it everytime i start the car but it more prevalent after the car has been sitting for a while. Today while out and about i noticed that it was a bit more persistant and didnt stop until i started moving. Once i get going then the mysterious rattle is gone and stays gone. Any ideas what it could be?

Second thing, car has been smelling like gas lately! I just filled up with Shell V-power like normal and since yesterday the car has smelled of gas. No CEL, oil is topped off and is in good shape. I havent been beating on it since WTD but the temps have really shot up here. What could it be?

Anyone have and ideas Id appreciate it. Thanks!

Its not easy to stay focused on the text
But I guess you get tired of hearing that.

The way you describe when the rattle is there makes me think: air pump.

About the fuel smell: how much (in miles) have you driven after fueling up?
Maybe its just expansion overflow?
Remove the trunk lining and have a closer look.
Don't use a lighter

ill be checking the trunk liner tonight. its been about 150 miles since filling it with gas the last time.

What makes you think its the air pump about the rattle? Can you elaborate?

Thanks!!

Sound like TCT to me

Find the post in UTH with the sound clip of a bad TCT and see if it's the same as yours....

shit..........well atleast it isnt something more serious. Billman sounds like you are spot on with this. Ive read a whole crap load of posts now and it sounds like it is the TCT. Is there a good DIY out there. The UTH one is out of commission.

Would it contribute to the smell of gas?
