alright guys this is weird stuff!!! i unlocked my car via the remote and got inside, with my driver door still opened i inserted my key into the ignition to start the engine. after starting the engine, i remembered i left something in the trunk... so i opened the trunk, stepped out of the car and closed the door, all was going well UNTIL!!! SOMEHOW both my doors auto locked and i couldn't get back inside!!!!! has this ever happened to your car before or is my car just haunted?

I like the auto lock on cars where it locks at 15mph, makes much more sense.

 

LOL! My car does that too. But only sometimes for some reason.

 

i use to work on cars and i always roll the window down if i get out of a car with keys in them. even if they dont have auto door locks.

 

Yup. I'll NEVER leave keys in the car and step out/close door without putting down the window first.

I'm often in some remote areas where if the keys are locked inside the car I'm walking 5-10 miles just to find the first house!

 

It is supposed to relock after 30 seconds if you unlock it and then don't open the door. I'd say your door jam switch isn't working properly. Do you ever get in the car and the interior light doesn't come on?

 

I believe mine autolock also. I would sometimes get out my car and foget to lock it and it would autlock itself after a while. But I never experienced leaving the keys in the ignition and it autlock itself.

 

i also put the windows down anytime i get out of the car without the keys in my hand

 

autolock is the worst feature ever conceived. i made a thread previously on the "tell honda" section...
