I have the front lip AND used this jack and it B A R E L Y clears it, still touches the front lip but it does not scratch or place much pressure on it. So you are safe. Now if your car is lowered, that is another issue.. hehe

So maybe a block of wood is still needed to avoid making contact with the lip (like the lip's not going to get scratched up anyway).

It only takes two seconds to drive the front tires onto a couple short 2x6's and any floorjack will work after that. So unless you have a really confined workspace I never saw the point in spending big bucks for a special floor jack. However, if I did have one like the pretty blue one in the first picture I would consider taping some type of foam protector where it just barely misses the lip of the car.

This is a new style jack that works great under the side lift points, even on a lowered car, without 2 x 4's.

I think the clearance is only 3 1/4 inches and is only 20 pounds so it's easy to carry around.



plus, it's only about $40
