Default Unusual Vibration....

So I installed wheel locks right after some one made an attempt to steal my rims and my alarm woke me up. I came out to all lugs off, 1 wheel off with jack and tools still next to my car and bricks underneath it.

Could wheel locks possible throw off the balance if they are heavier than the lugs? I now get a vibration that increases from 40mph and on. It isn't felt in the steering wheel but more in the shift knob/body of the car.

Never had vibration issue on any of my vehicles with out having it mess with the steering wheel. So weird...

You check to see if all the lug nuts are tight?

from past when you have vibrations after a certain speed, 40 like you mentioned I found them to be from off centered wheel mount.

I'm not sure how s2k's mount their wheels but alot of vehecles i've owned has a hub centric ring. anyone s2k owners confirm this?

From what I understood the stock wheels don't need them. I could be wrong. But on my Prelude when I went with aftermarket rims, I needed to order the rings as well. But stock wheels did not need them.

Yes, wheel locks that weigh more can through off the balance.

Have the wheels checked for balance, they may have also put your alignment out of whack if the car was dropped on the rotor.

I highly doubt a wheel lock is going to cause any significant out of balance issue. They are far to close to the center to have any rotational weight to them.

Hmm true... I wounder if the fact that the car was completely on the ground on one side with all lug nuts off, wheels on and other side jacked up had anything do with it.

Basically all lugs were off and when I put the wheel back on, lowered the car, then went around putting lugs back on and torquing them down to 80.
