Default update to the cutting of the Carbon Air guide/shield

As noted in the previous thread...I had to cut the nice carbon piece for the spoon intake. I wish I didn't rush...otherwise I wouldn't have cut my finger on the sharp carbon!!!!

final crappy pics with crappy lighting...

very very nice vapor.....looks like a nice clean job? Was it difficult? If you had a different intake you probably wouldn't of had to cut that peice huh???

who makes that peice and how much does it retail for....?? I am kinda interested

yea, I just wish I could've taken more time to do it. The cutting sucked, my goggles fogged up and I had to take them off so I could see. Gloves proved to be inferior for controlling the dremel, even after I lowered the speed of the dremel. So, with no goggles and bare hands, I cut it.

The piece was designed for stock setup, guiding air to the stock opening of the intake box. The piece is very light, feather weight light and the quality is very good. I got it through a friend for $283 shipped to my front door step from japan in 5 days.

what did you have to cut, can't see anything in the pics, looks nice though. I just received the idi duct and it's going in this weekend. it needs to have the part that holds it to the grill cut for the slots and that's it.

Is this supposed to be some kind of attempt a achieving ram-recovery? That's a pretty tortuous pathway for the poor air molecules unless you are keeping it over about 120 mph most of the time! We consider ourselves to be pretty lucky if we pick up 1" of manifold pressure with straight-in ducting on very fast normally aspirated aircraft engines. You will also want to somehow seal to prevent leakage in the neighborhood of that hole you cut out. Good luck!
