Use of AMSoil or other synthetics.
I'm a new owner, with less than 2k miles, and considering using AMS Oil when it comes time for the first oil change. Anyone using Ams already, or recommend other synthetics? I've heard some great things about Ams but not here in the forum.

I personally use mobil 1 if I need a top up when on the road and out of amsoil but prefer Amsoil because they have a detail of the fluids for the s and you can read more at http://www.amsoil.com/index.aspx?zo=1151663 and use the product selection area. My ap1 engine runs smoother and less top ups needed...they used to recommend the european amsoil formulation and recently they have several formulations designed more for the s2000...be sure to use the amsoil oil filter as it is the best I have found for our cars.

Amsoil makes some really great oils. They have several oils that are well suited for extended oil change intervals (OCIs). I have been using Amsoil 0W-30 for almost all of the 213,000 miles I currently have on my car.
But if I wasn't doing extended OCIs, I'd probably go with a less expensive, more readily available 0W-30.

I will only use AMS oil in my S2. I used Mobil 1 but it was loud I felt. I notice AMS takes alot of the "noises" away. I also always have a bottle or 2 in the trunk ready.
