Used clutch question, need help.
I purchased a used clutchmasters stage 4 clutch and was wondering if I needed to have the pressure plate resurfaced or whatever procedure they do to the thing if its needed at all?
I know you do it to flywheels but was not sure about the plate.
Clutch has around 3000 mile on it.
Thanks
Chris

If the PP is warped (check for runout as per the service manual) you should replace it. If there's no runout, just ensure it's clean when you install it. If you see excessive 'blueing' or bad burn marks, you'll be pulling the clutch again before long to replace it.
If you resurface the PP, You'll change the engagement point and the gripping characteristics of the PP. In other words, you'll probably loose all the benefit of the PP you just bought. Additionally, it'll probably re-warp very quickly.
Good luck.
