Anyone have a link to more research on air filters?

I have the FIPK and will willingly put the OEM or AEM dry filter in it if there are any benefits like cleaner air or more air flow. I guess I should pull the air filter anyway and see if there's oil or dirt beyond it in the intake. I always have fears about over-oiling K&N filters anyway.

A better way to evaluate effectiveness of an air filter is oil analysis. How much silica is in the oil.

Its really tough to beat the stock filter for the combo of filtration and flow.

 

If you get one of these you will know if your air filter(or maybe something else) is causing a restriction on your intake

I am going to change out my air filter and take pic's of it to show how it looks after 90k miles. The air filter still doesn't produce enough restriction to have me change it but it's been on my car for almost six years and that is about as long as I would run a air filter regardless of miles or restriction.

The filter will clear the horn without issues? I just got it in the mail and it looks a lot larger than the KN filter.
