Default using the same oil filter

So i noticed an oil leak coming from my s2000 about a week ago and did an oil change and changed the filter, since then i've driven less then 100 miles and i still have an oil leak. I'm worried that there might be a second rubber 0 ring on the filter that i forgot to check for before putting on the new filter. Is it safe to take off the current filter thats on there to check for the ring and then put it back on?

some people will say, after u take off the oil filter, and you put the same one on, it will not create a perfect seal, some say it's fine, it's up to you, ( i guess try it, and if it leaks some more, get a new filter)

good luck

yep, just be sure to have an oil pan so it doesnt spill everywhere.

you won't really lose much, maybe just a cup or two full. just get some more oil and fill her back up

Use your dipstick to find out how much oil you need to add after the spill. Remember: L to H is 1 full quart. Make sure the car is on level ground.

This is going to be messy guys. Peace of mind, get a clean pan and loose the oil drain plug. Let all of the oil drains out and uncrew the oil filter to check for damage. You can reuse the motor oil. The alternative will cause massive of oils coming out all over, very messy to clean up. I thought dentistry is messy, but this is worse.
