V-AFC/Check Engine Light Help
Guys-
I am hoping to draw on the collective experience and expertise of the members that frequent Under The Hood.
I installed a V-AFC in my car last night. I got a Check Engine Light as soon as I started it. Here are the details of the install and some info about my car:
1. All of the wiring has been double-checked. Pink and purple are going the right way. Yellow and white are going the right way. The brown wire is spliced in closer to the ECU than the black wire.
2. I have a Comptech SC with their ESM. I installed the wires for the V-AFC between the ESM and the ECU. When I do the sensor check on the car, it is showing about 2.89 volts, which is what the Comptech ESM puts out.
3. I did the V-AFC initial setup (sensors 06/06, throttle self learn, etc.). When I start the car and monitor with the V-AFC, the RPMs are correct, the pressure is reading -400 (whatever units they use). The throttle position looks right.
Do you guys have any suggestions, things I can check?
I am about to order the OBD-II stuff and have it overnighted so I can get the code.
TIA for your input.

If everything is wired correctly, I'd say it might have something to with the ESM. The code will tell us more. My guess is you'll see something like MAP sensor voltage out of range or something.

I'll have to check that when I get home. I know that at idle, it was reading -400 (or thereabout) in whatever units it displays by default.
The 2.89V I saw was with the key on, but not running.
