Thanks Dan!
Im not looking for the most HP s2000, just something different I might want to do later down the road after my turbo.
Those numbers look real good for N/A.
Turbo is fun, but I never really use the HP since I dont drag and dont race on the street.

I am also thinking of getting ITBs and I have a topic on the damage they can do. The reason I wanted them is because it reduces a lag that can build up in the intake chamber. Also throttle response improves. like turbo_pwr said it takes too much work to get it right and at the end its not much anyway. Im more worried about maintaining the car because of all the things that can be sucked in.

By the way sorry if its off topic, f20kills would you recomend turbo power for the s2000?

I run UNI Filters on my ITBs, when it's driven. I don't really know how it's any worst then the other foam filters you see.

If you install ITB in search of ultimate N/A hp, you'll most likely be disappointed. I had ITB in my miata mainly because of the throttle response. People think, "if your engine can rev faster than mine, so what?" When I'm autocrossing, throttle response doesn't just give me power out of corner sooner, it's the quick feedback that helps me drive more confidently at the limit (not just at autocross but also on a road course).

I remember a while back I watched a commentary analysing why Shumacher was so fast. From the F1 telemetry, they realized that Shumacher was able to provide smaller but more frequent driver inputs to stay at the limit, while other top F1 drivers did less frequent and therefore laggy and higher-magnitude driver inputs to "correct" (or over-correct). Perhaps Shumacher has supernaturally quick sense/muscle responses that made him outperform the others, but by the same token you can achieve similar effects by having your equipment to respond fast. People are always amazed my car control at the limit at autocross.

Build a proper airbox and plumbing leading to a SINGLE cone filter like I did in my miata. That will lower the intake sound level and keep the dirt out. And you'll get a fat wide torque curve.

Some other makes use engine vacuum to operate the HVAC controls. The S2k is all electric. Vacuum not required. Unless a common vacuum manifold (behind the throttle plates) is used there will be no engine vacuum present. So your Heating and AC will work normally, as long as the intake manifold used doesn't block any coolant passage to the heater control valve.

Manifold pressure is traditionally used to tune by. ITB's throw that out the window.

I'm sure turbo_pwr can attest to the issues brought about by not having a decent MAP signal to tune from.

For the money yes, but if you don't want to worry about your engine, get gears.
Its a blast to drive but I don't ever use this much HP(300+).
At the same time I will probably will keep the turbo forever .
If I had to do it again I would.
I would just try out gears first!

We used TPS to tune the ITBs

Race Miata, on the dyno there was virtually no difference between running filters and not running filters. So you are saying that a proper sized airbox would be more beneficial? I've always wondered about that.
