Please don't give such advice. He needs the DTC code first to be certain the problem has been addressed before doing this. Otherwise it will just come back again.
oh ok i read his post wrong. i thought he had the hoses hooked up right and fixed his problem but the ECU still had the DTC stored in it and he just needed to reset it

I know this was brought back from the dead, but I am in a predicament. I just got my car back from Honda for a valve job. It is now making a loud pshhhhhhh psh pshh, and if you take a look at the pic at the top of this thread, you see the little round thingy attached to the intake tube? Right below the airbox in the pic. It has 4 holes in the top, a couple of vaccuum lines running into it, and a wired plug going into it as well.

What is that thing? I am almost certain the pshhh noise is coming from that piece, because when I put my thumb over the top 4 holes I can get it to stop. Does anyone know what the deal is with this problem?

My car did not make this noise before I had it into Honda. It also seems to idle a bit rounger, almost vibrating the car slightly.

I know this is hard to diagnose without more info, but it is dark, late, and this is the best I can do for right now. Any help would be appreciated!

That's the solenoid for the air pump control valve. I'd guess that the solenoid is leaking vacuum causing your noise.

Is that a huge deal? Is it something that needs to be addressed asap or can it wait? I am pissed that this started RIGHT after I left the dealer, I might go over there and complain.

Also, would it make the noise if the vacuum lines are hooked up to it wrong?

thanks!

Like I said, when I put my thumb over the holes on the top, the vacuum sound stops. Does anyone know if it would be ok to put tape over it for a temporary fix?

PROBLEM FIXED... When the guy hooked up the vacuum lines he reversed the two that go into the solenoid!!! Seems to be working well now!

Looking at the timeline of your posts, I see that the picture posted in that other thread most likely helped you figure out the hose routing.
