The VAFC comes with a harness that requires splicing into the factory ecu wiring. An easy job, but many of us have opted for a custom harness that is plug-and-play without having to cut or splice any factory wiriing, allowing us to go back to stock painlessly.
Check the group buy section for the group buy on custom harnesses for $140.

How low can you go ???? hehehe
Im newish to this topic, but i would thought one of the primary objective of the VAFC is to lower the V tec engagement RPM. However most of S2ki seem to set the engagement at 5500-5800.
What's the logic for doing so??
Should there be any different if there is S/C???
How low has anyone gone to ???

My HVT settings were
4000:-25
4500:-25
5000:-27
5500:-25
6000:-3
7000:-6
8000:-11
9000:-9
From other posts I have seen, the -25's seem pretty steep. Should I be concerned about this. I was also wondering about the wide open throttle setting. I noticed many people (including mine) have it set at 50% throttle. I was just concerned that when the throttle was not all the down but above 50% that the VAFC would start its corrections on a leaner situation than what it was dynoed at. My understanding is that the car's ECU goes into a (open or closed?...) loop in which it pushes the mixture rich when under load or floored like done on the dyno. Could this be a problem. I came up with the question because I was revving my engine slowly in neutral and noticed some problems like leaning out, but when floored it seems ok. Any info on both the subjects would be appreciated.
