Default Valve adjustment ?

Ive been hearing a clicking noise while i driving and it gets louder as I press the gas and almost stops when I let off the accelerator. I do have a test pipe and have always heard the air escape noise since the TP was put on but now the clicking got a little bit louder. So my question is that if it is my valves, would putting off the valve adjustment for like a week, cause any harm to my engine? The honda dealership said they can do the adjustment for $250 so I got to wait till I get the money. Will any harm be done if I wait a week longer, I mean if it even is my valves, or it could just be my test pipe but who knows. I have an 01 with 64K on the odometer with no idea if the valves have ever been adjusted. Is this normal at this stage the engine is going through?

All I can say for myself is that I have adjusted valves twice in 60k miles. each time the engine ran smoother and the sound was less intrusive. i think a valve adjustment is a good thing. it can be done with minimal investment and a few hours of your time via the how to that is on this site and on utube...

your not hearing the tensioner are you? I would desribe poor valve adjustment as more a tap than a click.

find a reputable shop or mechanic to do you valve adjustment.

$250 is pretty steep as it usually cost $80+

you can make quick work of a valve adjustment job, with the right tools... 250 sounds about right as it shouldn't take more then 2 hours to do (book time) (infact it's probably more like 1 hour if you've done it a few times)
