The baffles aren't bolted on....

Don't have the cover media blasted.

It won't be worth it if you end up having an issue. And slipping the guy a $20 isn't going to ensure a good job. Its 2021. $20 is like...2 meals at Burger King.

The valve cover gasket is fine to reuse. Its only 9 months old. They last a longass time (assuming you went with a Genuine Honda gasket).

Having done a VC gasket or 100 in my time... once they've seen oil and been removed from the VC (very necessary step for prep/paint/pc/baking/whatever), they're an absolute bitch to get back in the channel and the frustration dealing with that is very worth the nearly $free.99 a VC gasket costs.

Interesting that S2000s seem to be way more allergic to media than other vehicles. I'll let you guys know if the IM and VC i'm having blasted and coated this week cause my motor to expire.

This is no joke. Media blasting valve cover has taken out many an F motor. The way baffle is designed, stuff gets up there and does not come out.

DO NOT EVER USE A MEDIA BLASTED VC on this engine.

If you want to remove paint from the VC you have to do it the hard way and use aircraft paint stripper.

The valve cover gasket is ~$50, IIRC. And availability can be spotty.

And no...its not difficult to manipulate back into place. Idk what you mean...

Why would it harden up with oil? Its meant to be in contact with oil for decades. I have taken off ancient ones that were still pliable.

However, OP will have to buy new spark plug donuts. Those "press" in and I can't think of a great way to get them out.

OP...why are you having the valve cover coated? If you just want the original finish, a new VC from Honda is like $200-300 for most model years.

I have done two valve inspections/adjustments. The first time (40K and some change) I kept the original gasket and tube seals. Easy to re-use. The second time (to check and see if anything changed: no they did not) I put in a new gasket and was prepared to replace the tube seals as well. (70K miles) As it turned out the tube seals were in great condition so I did not replace them. The VC gasket was in good shape and I could have re-used it but what the heck? Why not?

Make sure you get the correct one, 2006-2009 like the one linked above will not work if you got a 2004.
You want a 12310-PCX-010, the earlier ones (12310-PCX-505) does fit as well but does not have the updated PCV.
All of them seems to be discontinued btw so grab them while you can.
