Default Valve cover seepage

So I've noticed that there has been some seepage around my valve cover as of late. Runs along the header side and the front of the engine. Obviously the valve cover gasket needs to be changed but I'm wondering if this is normal that this can happen? Its a MY07 w/ only 52k miles. I've never removed the head but I am the second owner and bought it w/ 33k miles.

So anything to worry about or just replace the valve cover gasket and be on my way?

Or could this be from the oil I'm using. No idea what the previous owner used but he was an older gentleman that traded in the S for a Sebrin convertible so I'm guessing he didnt use anything fancy.

I have been using Castrol Syntec 10w30 since the first oil change.

My AP1 had the same. I changed the valve cover gasket a month or so ago and it hasn't come back.

I assumed it was a result of the tilt of the motor and oil tending to accumulate on the exhaust side where the head/valve cover meet.

This is normal on any Honda engine. Buy the replacement gasket kit with the valve cover and spark plug gaskets.

I had it on my car when I first got it, 2002 with 55k miles, changed the gaskets and it has been dry ever since. I bought the whole gasket kit and did them all at one time while I was in there, it's a good chance to check your valve clearances and spark plugs while you have things apart.

My AP1 has started doing the same thing in the same spot. I'm sitting right at 80,000. Seems like that gasket has a short lived life.

I just had to change mine out as well, I guess it's just part of maintenance.

I think this is a good reminder to everyone to just change the gasket (kit) whenever you adjust the valves. Better than going on the "cheap" and have to replace it later.

Need to do this on mine too, have some seepage in the back corner near the header. Valve cover has been off twice for adjustments and 145K on a MY00.
