Thumbs up Oil on IM, above header, back of valve cover

I would guess it would be my valve cover gasket. There is oil along the edge of the piece right above where the header bolts on. Not sure what that piece is. Bolted on and runs the length of the vylinder head almost. On the back of the valve cover on the few plugs back there it looks like oil has splattered around and got all over them. There is also a good bit of oil build up on the intake manifold closest to the valve cover and right under the fuel rail area. Is there something else that could be leaking there or do all signs point to valve cover? I replaced it like a year ago when I put my powdercoated valve cover on and there was no leaks until I noticed it recently. I wiped the valve cover base down last week and I don't see new oil right along there but still oil wet around whatever that piece is right above the header area.
Any ideas?

Holyshit, I just noticed the same thing and I have only noticed mine is wet right where the valve cover meets the head and then alittle above the headder.

Im definitely suspicious of a leaky valve cover gasket.

I think mine was the valve cover gasket. I replaced mine and I haven't notice anymore building up. Guess it really get's everywhere when that thing starts leaking.

When it's not much oil you will not see it leaking unless you sit there for hours maybe. not going to be dripping out or anything. Just after a while you will notice a little bit of oil building up.
Most times when there is oil anywhere around the valve cover or head it seems to come from the valve cover gasket.

if its not that much oil, why did you make a thread about it?

its going to be 100 times harder to see where the origin is if its all oil loaded, clean it and go from there.

what would i know, i just fix cars for a living.

haha cause I wanted to know where it could be coming from. And if you noticed I fixed it already..
Obviously if there was lots of oil dripping out from somewhere I would know to look for a leak lol.

OK I found why this was happening to me! So if you notice that when you spill oil filling or topping off, take the spark plug cover off and notice where all the oil goes... BINGO!

So most likely not any type of leak at all!
