valve train noise
quick question. are our valvetrains normally loud, i was cruising the other day with the top down and drove by a building and the echo was like a card in the spokes sound, i know its not the tct just replaced it a few weeks ago. my question is does it normally sound that loud or would it be safe to say i need an adjustment. my ap1 has 60k on it and i run it pretty hard with no track days just mountain passes. also how much should i expect to pay for it, would do it my self just dont have the time or the tools. any responses are greatly appreciated
normally loud, yes. primarily the injectors. 60k isn't a bad time for a valve adjustment regardless though.. you surely have several out of spec, whether they're making noise or not. You'll probably get charged for two hours labor, even though you could do it yourself in one.
another note, never diagnose a noise by driving past a wall.. you will not get an accurate representation.
