Unhappy Second Gear is Grinding Bad

Well my second gear feels really funny. Gritty would be the best way of describing it. I plan on getting the tranny flushed to see if some debris is stuck in there. I was doing a burnout and when I went to shift into second I think I shifted before the clutch disengaged or the other way around. either way it made a horrible noise. Doing the burnouts with Advan Ao48's wasnt a great idea either. So my question is, if my second gear is damaged, is it cheaper to get the tranny repaired or just source a used AP2 tranny? Thanks in advance for the help!

I would like to point out before any one posts. That he is not complaining at all, just asking for advice.

It depends on how cheap you can get a used tranny. I'm guessing it will be cheaper to get the transmission rebuilt but more down time compared to replacing the tranny. Best bet is to call up some transmission shops and get pricequotes, and then see how much you can get a used tranny for.

yea getting a used tranny would be less down time and than you can rebuild that 1st one so you will have a back up just incase you doing some funky burnouts .
