My engine has 157k miles as we speak and when the car was my daily driver, it didn't burn too much oil. Maybe 1/3rd of a quart in a 6k change interval. I do have a burned exhaust valve and last checkup revealed deposits on cylinder #4. I hope this can at least help clean it up a bit.
Perhaps you can post pics in a few months or so, for the before and after pictures.

What did your last couple oil analysis show?

This oil is a good choice if you think that your piston oil control rings are frozen / stuck in deposits. It does happen and the S2000 motors can certainly consume oil. It is a good idea if you can get those stuck oil rings freed up. The problem is that most people can't tell if their rings are messed up or not. Still worth a try.

Never done this I'm guessing?

Test results can be reassuring -- or terrifying!

Oil analysis will highlight what metal parts are wearing at higher rates than usual -- for example Blackstone Labs has a data base of all the S2000s they've tested and has established a "normal" or average for our engines . Also if the oil is getting adulterated by dirt, antifreeze, blow-by (bad rings),etc. And if the oil is beyond it's "use before" date.

I know what it does.

But how would it help specifically, in context of this thread? And what are the uses for what it provides?

Or are you just curious as to what an oil analysis shows?

TBH, I think its a used oil analysis useless data point for *most* cases.

I unfortunately did not have pics when the shop was checking the condition of cylinder #4. Perhaps in a few years I'll bring it to the shop to see if there are any improvements and grab pics them from their bore scope. I'm only averaging 2k miles a year at this point after moving to the midwest and this is no longer my daily driver. It sees some use in about 7-8 months of the year and a few track days.

I'll be changing the oil again this fall. Not sure if I'll feel a difference even after a full clean but judging by everything I've seen or read on this oil, it should really help a high mileage engine, although does not fix my valve problem. Looks like it can also help a poorly maintained engine with lots of deposits and "restore" it to a newer condition.

I intend to use this oil in my newer daily driver after I finish my current stock of oil jugs.

The additive in the oil supposedly dissolves carbon, turns it into a form of graphite smaller than 3 microns. There was a snake oil additive back in the day, I forgot its name, LD20 or LP50 or something like that, which supposedly did the same thing. Some people swore up and down that stuff worked, I guess they put that additive in this oil.

seen some decent oil burn reduction in Toyota 4 cyl motors in customer cars. early 2000's camrys burn oil like its gas with higher mileage. this is after 10k ish miles with constant topping off with the VRP. those Toyota motors are known for rings getting stuck so my guess is this is helping in that area.

if you have frozen oil control rings then I'd give it a try, nothing to lose and no harm in trying it. The worst thing that can happen is that it doesn't work. If I had an oil burner I'd try it.
