Default Volume down is broken

When I was driving to work this morning, I noticed that my volume switch was not working. When I pushed it up, it was normal. I could feel pressure or like a click. When I pushed the volume down, it felt loose? Like nothing was underneath it to click. Hopefully I am describing it vividly. It just feels like the button behind it doesn't work anymore. Idk what could have caused that. The only thing I did to my car yesterday was put new parking lights in. And I had to squeeze my hand to put the lights in. Maybe I pulled something and pulled the button that sits behind the down switch out of place?

Can someone suggest what I should do to fix this? Besides taking it to a shop. Thanks

you can order that entire cluster (probably minus the start button) on ebay. You can attempt to take it out/fix it first if you want. Its easy to pop off the gauge cluster surround (you need to drop the steering column first)

so the only way of fixing it, is to buy a new cluster? what is it actually called? the part that surounds the cluster?

Oh that's pricey. Ok I'll try to take it apart and see what I can do about it first. I feel safer knowing I can buy that incase I break something. Thanks.
