I had similar problems. Had to tighten it up twice before it stopped jumping off. It didn't snap until I ran the smaller pulley. I switched to a smaller belt and even then it still skips over 1 rib, but doesn't slip.

Get another belt, tighten it up good, and you should be fine ASSuming everything is aligned properly.

Your belt tension should allow you to twist it a 1/4 of a turn.

Moving to Under the hood for better responses...

Check with Evolution they installed ours and we have not had any problems. Their link is in the sponsor section.

Well when you tighten the tension nut did you tighten the lock nut on the pulley?

I went through a couple of belts myself along with the snapped tension bolt. From an engineering standpoint the design is wrong. Vortech replaced mine (tension bolt?) without even a peep. I haven't had any trouble since we put the new tension bolt on-I truely think the first one let my belt loosen, now I have no underhood insulation!!! Phil

yeah I had the same problem with my tensioner bolt.. the thing fricken snapped inside. so I had to drill it out. Just make sure that the belt is tight on there but not too tight. if it is too tight it can snap, if its too loose it will slip. there is a tool to test the tension on the belt, but someone that has installed one before will know how tight it should be... Good luck to you. It takes a good hit and miss to finally get it right but when it runs right... oh man oh man the joy in that
