The Honda crank pulley holder is REALLY expensive. See if you can borrow or rent one. Or maybe consider getting a welder to make one for you.
The Honda tool is actually two tools - the holder and the leverage bar.
OR, go to a Honda dealer or mechanic and just pay them to swap the pullies. This is only a 15 minutes job and should not cost too much.

is it really necessary for the honda crank pulley holder in order to get the pulley off? shouldnt a turbo shop already have some sort of tool to aid this process?

A "turbo" shop would have no reason to remove that crank pulley. You really need some kind of pulley holder. It has been noted by some installers that the crank pulley can take up to 500 ft/lbs of torque to get loose.

They probably have one if they work on Hondas. You may want to pull your pan and weld up the bung rather than just tapping the thin material.
The brass plug is where the oil return goes.
