Well seems that Vortech still has not fix there Vortech SC computer. You would think they would fix it by now. Just make shore you check that it is the correct black box and not the defective one before you install the kit.

How exactly can you tell which is the correct unit? I'm not at this part of the install, but will be either tonight or tomorrow. (Getting the tool to remove the crank pulley in an hour).

I have the Vortech SC with the newest version of the timing box (version 3 I believe). I am making 320hp at the flywheel on a controlled dyno run but running at 13.2:1 air fuel at the top end with spikes up to 17:1 at 4500rpm. I am also getting pre-ignition from 8000 rpm upwards making the car undrivable until the fueling and timing issues are solved. I wasn't aware that there are still issues with the timing box - what are they?
Has anyone used a simple piggy back and programmed this to get around the Vortech problems - like a Greddy e-Manange or an HKS F-Con set-up? I would be happy to share data as I may get my tuner to set-up the standard Vortech using a piggy back computer and take out all their electronics to help solve my problems.
Any people already doing this?

What kind of info do you need to tell them? Date of manufacture? S/N? Can one just email them the info? Anybody in particular to contact?
Thanks.
