Default VSA Light Stays On.

Hello all.

I recently bought a "F-1 Style LED Tail Light" for my car. I installed it under my rear bumper and wired it up to my taillight. Every time I tap the brakes, the light flashes 3 times and then turns off. I like it a lot.

Ever since I installed the light, I noticed that my VSA light and the Yellow Triangle next to it lights up every time I drive with my headlights on. This happens about driving 4 miles with the headlights on. The light comes on and doesn't turn off until I turn the car off. Then when I start it back up and turn my headlights on, after 4 miles it happens again.

It doesn't happen if my headlights are switched off.

What can the problem be? Thanks for any help in advance.

Not sure how the VSA and the brake lights are connected but I'd suggest temporarily disconnecting the newly installed light and see if the problem goes away. That would confirm it's the new light causing it and not just a coincidence.

Good luck!

Agreed!

Also, and I know this is random, but check your brake fluid to be sure it isn't low. I had the same thing happen after a weekend @ the track when I had the CR and didn't have any idea that the 2 were connected. It would come on just as you are describing after a little driving and wasn't 100% consistent.

Good luck x2!!

I was going to suggest what Timbagoo did about the brake fluid. My brake fluid switch would blink for a second because of low brake fluid on a weird incline and then go out but it was enough to trip these two lights. Could that be it and it be a coincidence? If not I would disconnect the light and confirm that is directly related to the ABS/VSA lights

The other thing was my car recently threw a check engine light but when I took it to the autoparts store to pull the code the reader also pulled warning lights that were stored from when I had low brake fluid and what not. Maybe the code reader could see why it popped, it wasnt a 'PO' code but like a 51-1 or something.

Just a thought.
