Default Trunk Latch Assembly

I can only open the trunk on my 2000 S2000 by using the key.

Is it possible to repair the latch assembly (74851-S2A-003) or do I have to buy a new one?

Will it be easy to replace the latch assembly myself?

The trunk circuit is also connected to the keyless door lock control unit. Q1- Does your kekless lock function work? If not check fuse #26, it's Located under the dash on the main fuse panel. Right side second fuse down. If door lock works it's either the trunk switch or trunk solenoid. Frankly I have seen this mode twice and both cases were fixed by re seating the connector for the trunk solenoid. 3 pin rewarded next to the trunk latch. Obviously came loose during trunk opening nag and closing.

I am having the same issue too. The keyless entry works fine, and the trunk opens with the key in the trunk no issue. Its only the button for the trunk inside the glove box that wont pop the trunk. Was working one day... and wasnt the next. Physically the button feels normal, not like it is snagged or anything.

That is correct. As I said before, "I can only open the trunk on my 2000 S2000 by using the key."

The keyless lock will only unlock the doors, but not the trunk. The inside release (button inside the glove box) does not work either. There does not seem to be any loose electrical connection to the latch assembly.

The inside release (button inside the glove box) does not work even with the key in the ignition and the engine turned on.
