vtec hicups

Default vtec hicups

every now and again when i hit v tec in 1 and 2 gear it will kind of skip a beat or lurch 2 or 3 times not a smooth acceleration the vtec still works its just acting funny and it only ever does this every once in a while , any one have any ideas whats happening? can i take this to a regular mechanic or should i have this looked at by a dealership ?

No it will not be stored.

It happened once to my car 90k miles ago. I did the "MAP whack" and it's never done it since. Known issue.

While someone is lightly revving the throttle up and down, gently tap on the MAP sensor with a screwdriver handle for 20 seconds.

tryed the screw driver thing car is still being a pain , should i try buying anew map sensor ?

went and got all my fluids replaced brake,oil,clutch, rear diff, the car is no longer lurching , but now the rpms drop by 1000rpm every time i shift in vtec , sort of the opposite of a clutch slip where the rpms go up but no engage , any one have any ideas what is happening ?
