Try solenoid. My old CL Type S and the Wife's TL Type S both had solenoids go bad on the intake plenum changeover; no solenoid = no Type S.

 

im going to have my solenoid check tomorw!! hopefully its only the solenoid....... i have another extra one with me...

 

hi guys! guess what i still dont have vtec.. we opened the solenoid guess what we found inside a plastic wrapper clogged on the oill passage on the solenoid. its like a wrapper on the gatorade cap. then we removed it test drove the car.. and still no vtec. we installed a vtec light it lights up but still no vtec sound and pull. we repleced the solenoid with another solenoid cleaned the filter screen test drove again still no vtec and it doesnt even have a CEL......... the solenoid is working but i dint have the pull and the sound of vtec on my car... it revs up to 9200rpm but doesnt have power on hi rpm...........and my oil pressure on idle with 749rpm is 44-45psi at 9200rpm its only 105psi which is before it goes up to 109psi at high rpm. and what could be wrong with my car?? and also will the plastic wrapper on my vtec solenoid casing cause any bad problem on my engine like the oil galleries or passage ways?? pls help me thanks!!

Did you get the entire wrapper? How did it get in there? WTF is it? It is not normal. Have you had the engine apart or open? This is strange.

 

yup . its a used engine. i got it form a jdm engine yard... then i had it installed over at my friends shop i think while installing it my friend removed the vtec solenoid to clean the passage ways and put a plastic on the solenoid so it wont get anythng on it while it is not on the engine but the problem is that i guess he forgot to remove the plastic while returning the solenoid into the engine.. yup i did got all the plastic out.. good thing it was stuck in there.. and it wouldnt get in the engine because there is a wire screen which is the filter of the solenoid....but still after i haved removed it i still dont have vtec on my car........ whats wrong with my car???
