How do you know if your map is bad? My car feels really sluggish lately but i've done the mapwack several times. Maybe i broke it?

I think if you broke your map sensor, you'd at the min. throw a CEL, and the engine would feel like crap.

Maybe a VA is due? Bad gas? Who bunch of different things it could be

MMhh, valve adjustment about 5K miles ago and i only gas up at Chevron. It seems like the engine has the power it's just feels like something is holding it back putting it on the road.
It's fine in V-tec, its from 2-5K rpm where it seems weak....

Try an ECU reset , pull the ECU backup fuse under the dash drivers side, leave out for a couple of mins then put back in.
You'll then need to do the ECU learn thing afterwards. Personally I just leave it idling nothing turned on for two fan cycles. Then I just drive it.

If you want the correct operation lookup ECU learn process.

Also..
Under 6000 RPM ( I beleive ) the ECU is in whats called closed
loop mode which means its taking and adjusting its parameters
based on sensor values. After 6000 at WOT it goes into open loop
where it uses some of its stored settings.

If one of your sensors is giving odd reading this could explain
why your having some issues. At low rpms and not when your
flooring it.

Anyway an ECU reset is worth a try. If the problem persists try
and get the car hooked up to an ODB-II monitoring tool it may
show you whats going wrong.

Good luck with your problem

Sniper.
