My gas is fine, no cel and I feel no "kick", but still accelerates, and the acceleration isnt that powerful
I had the same issue , I did the following

1- Uninstalled the Vtec solenoid, cleaned everything inside, also cleaned the Vtec filter (Little mesh)

2 - Ensured that the oil capacity was in full

3 - I did the map whack

4 - Reset Ecu

Problem solved

Also you should check the wiring that goes to the vtec solenoid just in case.

Hope you can solve the problem

Just to add....VTEC does not need WOT to work. It will engage at 1/2 throttle or even lower.

However, you won't feel the "kick" right?

You will feel a slight change, it will not feel like it would at WOT. Think of it like a nuckle sandwich, someone lays one in your gut at 5 pounds of force, not so bad but you felt it, now say you get it at 60 pounds of force, not only are you going to feel it, you most likely are not going to like it. Just my way of thinking

you won't feel the same kick if you're applying low throttle but still engaging vtec. Just keep in mind vtech engagement point is determined by several things and just because you hit ~6k, doesn't mean you'll go into vtec. I couldn't tell you how do to this since I'm always pedal to the metal at 6k
