Default VTEC QUESTION

I got a question about vtec?

My vtec seem to not have the same kick i use to get.

When there is something wrong with the vtec solenoid will a cel light come on?

Check oil, if its low it could effect VTEC.

When VTEC engages in the S it is more subtle then other H motors though (if you are used to a different motor and just got the S).

Usually when you feel VTEC the most is when the VTEC dip or drop in HP right at the engagement point is somewhat drastic, after tuning the transition is much smoother and most S's I have driven were pretty smooth (at least compared to most B/H/K series motors).

Have you been generally keeping up on maintenance? You could also try the "ECU reset" by unplugging the battery. Sometimes that will help if your car learned a bad habit.

the ecu reset and a new battery made a difference in my car and i have a 2004. sometimes it seems an oil change make for a better power delivery as well.
